Hey FAFO friends! My name's Amanda, and I want to help folks get out from under their sw@sticar loans.

 

No one purchased these vehicles knowing they'd become symbols of hateful ideology. Rather than vandalize the cars of our neighbors and burden them with financial pain, let's productively put the pain right where it belongs. Let's get our friends out from being upside down with their Tesla's.

 

Exert our economic power - we’re sending a message to Tesla that their primary customer base disagrees with the symbology to which Tesla is associated, and we won’t stand for that. So we’re taking the money from these vehicles and putting it directly toward the fight for our rights.

 

The Plan for Focused Project Economic Initiative 1:  Help People Sell Their Teslas

 

• Raise funds to offset the loss of individuals selling or donating their depreciated Tesla

• Sliding scale assistance given to get out of loans based on salary/income level

• Downpayment assistance for alternative car loan initiation based on salary/income level

• Raise enough funds to buy Tesla's outright from individuals, then donate the vehicles or cash from the sale of the vehicles (we will flip them) to the ACLU Foundation

Phase 1 (Current Phase):

 

Those wanting to get rid of their sw@sticars will need to do the following leg work to receive assistance:

 

• Find a buyer (Tesla dealer, private buyer, etc.)

• Show the agreed upon buyout amount and the amount you owe to get out of your loan

• Send us your salary/income and demonstrated need (this can remain private/redacted, but we will post amounts for transparency to the community)

• Provide photos of the car going away with proof of the sale

• Down payment assistance for new car provided on sliding income scale - must demonstrate need & ability to secure a new loan

 

The above steps will shift the financial burden and risk from our neighbors and get them out of their sw@sticars.

 

LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks will get priority assistance. We will help anyone who wants to get out of their Tesla, but want to be sure we give priority help to marginalized communities.

 

Example of funding assistance:

 

Car owner owes $17,500 on their Tesla

They receive a buyout offer of $15,000 from a dealership

We pay the $2,500 differential so they are not negatively financially affected

We give $1,000 down payment on their next loan initiation

We pay $500 toward their new registration costs

 

Approximately $4,000 to get someone out of a Tesla in this scenario

Phase 2:

​

• We crowdfund enough to buy Teslas outright from anyone who wants to sell

• We donate the value of the vehicle to the ACLU Foundation to fund the fight for our Constitutional Rights by either:

  • Donating the vehicle to the ACLU directly or​

  • Selling the vehicle ourselves for whatever we can get, then donating 100% of the cash to the ACLU

Phase 3: 

​

• We take on the next unethical business through our second Focused Project Economic Initiative

• We launch our long term, sustainable mission of non-profit economic activism work to support marginalized communities

  • Local to Portland, Oregon first, then we will scale & grow over time

  • We will be offering tangible economic assistance through grants, fundraiser events and merch sales to the LGBTQ+ & BIPOC-owned small businesses as the tariffs & hit and we navigate the new economy

  • We will consistently donate proceeds from donations, grants received, fundraisers to the ACLU

  • All financials will be posted publicly on this website for all to see

  • We do not want to see any small businesses in our already marginalized communities suffer, so we are going to do our part to offer economic solidarity through collective community action

Addressing Capitalism

​

Capitalism is not the root of evil - individual greed when combined with unregulated capitalism is. The solution is to stop the source of the problem by demanding business leaders behave ethically and stop hurting the American people.  By implementing the FAFO Code of Business Ethics into every corporation we buy into, we can slowly but surely enact real, meaningful change.  This code of Ethics will be drafted with C-Level Business leaders, Finance Professionals, and leaders from across industries to hold corporate leaders to a standard that prioritizes respect for the American people and is committed to rebuilding the American middle class.

FAFO Private Equity For The People will give the American People a seat on the board of every company into which we buy stake.

 

This is how we save our democracy.

 

• We establish a private equity fund as a separate branch from the non-profit, modeled after the ACLU's business models

• FAFO Private Equity Fund For The People will buy businesses, ensure they establish ethical practices including diversity, equity and inclusion policies and cap C-level staff pay to rebuild the middle class in America

• We will make capitalism ethical and FOR THE PEOPLE

• Businesses we buy will implement:

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Policies for all

  • No Union Busting​

  • No Corporate Lobbying - no buying politicians!

  • Raises for all employees to rebuild the middle class, which is what actually makes America great

• We build a community of business professionals who pledge to FAFO Code of Ethics - we are drafting a Leadership Pledge of Ethics for MBA graduates & future C-Level Leaders

• We will publicize business members on our website so your company and board knows who to hire - and we will hold them publicly accountable to their pledge

• We overturn Citizens United and take away corporate lobbying power

  • We have officially filed as a non-profit entity with the State of Oregon, Multnomah County​ titled "Fighting Against Fascist Oligarchs (FAFO)"​​

  • Upon Oregon Non-Profit approval, we file for 501c(3) Status

  • After 501c(3), we file 1023-EZ with the IRS when we receive our EIN tax identification
